I've always been a huge Wordpress fan (my business blog is a WP blog), but so many of my friends used Blogger when I started this blog that I thought I'd try it out :)

SOOOOOOOOOO I've already imported this whole blog over to wordpress and it's all rarin' to go!

So please update your links and I'll see you over there!

an artist in the making...

Sure, I'm biased. I know I am. But I honestly have seen very few three year olds that can draw as well as Tiana can. I know a lot of it is a girl thing, but gosh! She just blows my mind when she brings me her drawings (all folded up and wrapped with a hair band).

Except now she's discovered scissors.

So most drawings end up in piles of little confetti-sized strips in a pile on the kitchen floor.

*sigh*

As long as she keeps the scissors away from her hair, I guess I won't complain.

Toddler Bowling League
My BFF Rachael works full time, so we rarely get a chance to hang out with each other during the week. This week, though, she's home on vacation so we thought it would be fun to have a girl's morning out. We wanted to think of something fun for our girls to do and after much mind-numbing thought, Rachael had the brilliant idea of taking them bumper bowling.

We had a great time! And the best part? It only cost $3.50! The girls are little enough that one bowling game was plenty for them, and the shoe rentals (YES, they make bowling shoes for toddlers. How stinking cute is that???) were only $2.99. Pretty impressive (don't mock me - I get excited by the little things).

Do you remember back in the OLD days (hahaha, yeah right - you know I'm only 18 still so there's no such thing as the old days) when we would go bumper bowling? You had to call way in advance to reserve the VEERRRY last lane so they could blow up these giant rubber tubes that went in the gutters. And you had to bowl granny-style because the balls were so dang heavy you could barely lift them off the ground.

Well now, each and every lane is equipped with bumpers - they just push a magical button behind the desk and they appear! It's amazing.

And on top of that, they have created these bowling racks. It is exactly what it sounds like - a metal rack. For bowling balls. It's made so that you (the adult) can put the big heavy ball on top of it and your child can then angle the rack however they want (ideally, into the next lane where the elderly bowling league is having a heated match)...

...and can then push the ball down the rack where it will build up amazing momentum and speed (ok, not really - it still just barely makes it to the pins). As you can imagine, it's great fun.

And that's not all. Now they even offer bowling balls for kids. The balls are regular sized, but they only weigh 6 pounds! After a while Tiana figured out she could carry one around.

And the SHOES! Let's not forget the shoes. The oh-so-awesome shoes. I always wanted to own a pair of bowling shoes. Just to wear around. They're so cool. These are the shoes that I remember half of my high school owning (and wearing to school):

I also remember sliding around the bowling alley in my socks when I was a kid. No more! They now offer bowling shoes in sizes as small as a toddler's size 8! Cutest. Shoes. Ever.

Tiana thought she was stylin' in her sweet new footwear.

So all in all it was a great morning. The girls had fun, the moms had fun. And now we'll have to go back because when the big brothers found out, they all pitched a fit that they want to go bowling too.
