Mmmmmmmmmm. This one was SO good!! I was totally leary about trying it - but it was totally worth it!
The recipe calls for a beef roast but I used a pork shoulder roast (jsut what I had in the fridge LOL). Mmmmm. Even Aaron loved it which says a LOT HAHAHA.
Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast PREP TIME 15 Min COOK TIME 8 Hrs READY IN 8 Hrs 15 Min INGREDIENTS - 1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
- 1 (3 pound) beef chuck roast (or pork roast)
- 1 (16 ounce) can jellied cranberry sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
DIRECTIONS - Place onion soup mix in the bottom of a slow cooker. Place roast in the slow cooker, and top with cranberry sauce.
- Cover, and cook 8 hours on Low.
- Remove roast, and set aside. Set slow cooker to High. Whisk together butter and flour, and slowly mix into the liquid remaining in the slow cooker to create a thick gravy. Serve with the roast. ***I strained the onions out of the gravy :)
I served it with mashed potatoes and other typical side stuff - it was super yummy.
Enjoy! LOL.Labels: crock pot, pork, recipe, roast |
OH, yum! I need to pull the crock pot down and try this one. Dad is such a cranberry fan--he'll love it!
